Founded in 2018 by Dr. Lisa Kemmerer, Tapestry fosters a peace and compassion by sharing information via research and writing, presentations, and art. Tapestry works from the understanding that oppressions are interconnected, and as part of our foundational worldview, largely invisible.
Engaging with ideas and people, Tapestry works for change through three interconnected channels: scholarship, direct action, and artwork. With special attention to the needs of scholars and activists, the area of Scholarship entails research and writing, mentoring, and presentations.
Tapestry works for free and asks those who are able to provide a donation to join in the work of Tapestry.
Education for a Peaceful and Compassionate World
Oppressions, then, are by definition linked – linked by common ideologies, by institutional forces, and by socialization that makes oppressions normative and invisible.
