Anymal

“Anymal,” coined by Tapestry’s founder and director, refers to every individual from every species other than the one who is using the term.  “Anymal” avoids using “animal” incorrectly (as if human beings were not animals), avoids cumbersome referents (nonhuman animals and other-than-human animals), and avoids humancentric, dualistic, and alienating references (“non” and “other”).

CANHAD

When no one was willing to fund the Coalition Against Nonprofit Harassment and Discrimination (CANHAD), created by and shared among anymal activists at the height of the MeToo Movement, Tapestry stepped forward. The CANHAD website provides a safe space for survivors from the non-profit sector to share their experiences, helping victims to heal and helping all of us to better understand discrimination and oppression in social justice activism.
