Tapestry
Weaving a Kind and Peaceful World
Work at Tapestry follows three threads—Academics, In the Field, and The Arts.
Academics:
Learning and Sharing
Research is core to Tapestry’s work as we striving to place information in the hands of those best positioned to bring change for animals—animal studies scholars and students, animal activists, and in our religion program, people of faith.

In the Field:
Loving Labor
Tapestry works in the field—direct action with boots on the ground—to increase vegan options in restaurants (The Hospitality Challenge), to rescue and transport wildlife, and by volunteering at local dog and cat shelters. Our Hospitality Challenge was a huge success, exponentially increasing vegan offerings in local restaurants.
Wildlife Transport
Working with Shelters
The Arts:
The Art of Change
Tapestry encourages and offers art as activism—art designed to inspire kindness, bring justice, and build peace. Paintings of cows, turkeys, frogs, and elephants comment on animal agriculture, human ignorance of the inner lives of other species, and the realities of climate change. Poems give voice to the individuality of every living being, connection, and the beauty of the earth. Tapestry offers images and poems free of charge, so longs as they include an acknowledgement and link to the Tapestry Website.
